Wedding on Pearl Beach

Weddings are a popular and regular occurrence at Pearl Beach. The picturesque beauty of the area provides the perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony.

As the beach itself is a public area, consideration of other beach uses is most important. Any gathering, whether public or private, that infringes upon the use of the beach by any person or person's is not permitted.

 

Please note - Parking is limited at peak times, especially at the northern end beach access.

Pearl Beach comes under the jurisdiction of Gosford City Council.

There area several bylaws pertaining to beach use for events such as public gatherings which also apply to private arrangements like weddings. Prior Council permission is required and a fee is applicable.

Council permits small private gatherings on the beach for which they require no formal permission and no fee is payable; this type of gathering is deemed an "Informal gathering".

To qualify for an "Informal Gathering" on the beach area, the following is required -

  • Maximum use of the beach - Two (2) hours
  • Number of guests - Thirty (30) or less persons
  • No Structures - for example: no freestanding items (Other than those listed below)
  • No Tables - other than One (1) for use by the Wedding Celebrant and Bridal Party for document signing
  • Maximum of Six (6) chairs - for use by disabled guest's or those who cannot stand for a prolonged period of time
  • No Confetti - use of flower petals or other organic material is permitted
  • No Alcohol
  • No standing upon beach rocks for any purpose whatsoever
  • No fires or barbeque's
  • The beach area to be left clean with all refuse removed
    Council supplies fixed garbage bins at most beach access area's

Beach gatherings other than an informal gathering are deemed "Passive Use" of the beach area.

"Passive Use" means a gathering of more than Thirty (30) but less than Eighty (80)persons.
Permission is mandatory and should be sought from Council well in advance of the intended event.

A fee is payable - $65.00 per application. (Note: Council fees and charges are subject to review at any time.)

"Passive Use" requirements -

  • Maximum use of the beach - Two (2) hours

  • No Structures - no freestanding items.   For example: marquee's, arches, tables, chairs and etc. (Other than those listed below)
  • No Tables - other than One (1) for use by the Wedding Celebrant and Bridal Party for document signing

Gatherings of Eighty (80) or more people OR gatherings that include structures such as marquee's, arches, tables, chairs, etc; require a special event application form to be submitted to Council for approval. As large events do vary, so do the fee's payable and the fee is determined by Council upon application for each individual event.
