Pearl Beach Bushcare

Gosford City Bushcare logo
Bushcare and bush regeneration is a method of maintaining and improving areas of native vegetation by removing the burden of weeds and encouraging the natural recruitment of the native seed bed in the soil. This fosters a more complete and healthy plant community and also provides additional opportunities for native animals to source native food and shelter.

The process is slow as it is the consistent follow-up work on a site that makes bushcare a success.

Pearl Beach has a small dynamic and environmentally dedicated team of bushcarers participating in the Gosford City Council's Bushcare program.Dedicated Bushcare Workers

Their aims are to contribute something to help protect Pearl Beach's beautiful green environment by keeping weeds and other noxious plants at bay throughout the village. The group also plants native trees, shrubs, climbers, palms and estuarine plants particularly of local provenance to Pearl Beach to maintain and encourage plant diversity.

Pearl Beach Bushcare is not just about physical work. There is the social, educational and recreational aspects of working together with like-minded people working in a scenic bush land environment. There is plenty of time during the work sessions for discussion and socialising.

Volunteers are the life blood of Pearl Beach Bushcare and anyone who can spare some time to help, even for an hour or two, will be made most welcome.
